When Schools for India Trust was founded two decades ago, our mission was clear: to bridge the gap in access to quality education for children in rural areas. Many communities across India lacked basic infrastructure, qualified teachers, and resources for education. We aimed to change that by adopting schools, building infrastructure, and ensuring every child had the opportunity to learn and thrive.

Over the past 20 years, we have achieved remarkable milestones:

• Adopted many rural schools, transforming them into centers of excellence.
• Supported children, many of whom are now pursuing successful careers.
• Help to design and build state-of-the-art classrooms, libraries, and science labs to create an environment conducive to learning.
• Supported the training and development of over teachers, equipping them with the skills to deliver high-quality education.

Addressing Key Challenges

Throughout our journey, we have tackled pressing challenges such as:

• Illiteracy: By implementing innovative teaching methods and focusing on foundational skills, we have helped reduce illiteracy in the communities we serve.

Pioneering Initiatives: Source Intervention and Child Sponsorship

One of the hallmarks of our approach is Source Intervention, which focuses on addressing issues at their root by providing maximum resources where they are needed most. This includes improving school infrastructure, hiring qualified teachers, and promoting community awareness about the value of education.

In recent years, we launched an innovative child sponsorship program, enabling private individuals to sponsor a child’s education. This initiative has been instrumental in covering tuition fees, supporting specialized faculty, and upgrading school facilities.
